"On The Daily" debuts in our ears with a boom bap style production that reminds us of the classics of yesteryear. These beats are an excellent backing for Danny's bars, which stand out with an edgy sense of humor and, most importantly, a Midas' touch: every word he touches is turned into gold. Danny's relaxed, laid-back attitude as he strolls through the streets, which reminds me of the genre-bending, innovative and exceptionally artistic debut of the Gorillaz in 2001, is especially contrasted with the feature of Westside Boogie, which contributes a much more ferocious killer performance. If Danny Onionz was out playing in' the street game and creating a network of connects thanks to his antics, then Westisde Boogie was the guy who would be called in when things went wrong.
