1. Cru Cru Urbanwalrus, super nice to have the chance to chat with you! How did you get into music?
I started with an old classic-guitar, and a bunch of Cat Stevens Songs, learning my first chords. Soon after I felt confident enough to form my first band when I was like 14. Being loud was our prime goal, and we were damn good at it. However, the Band soon split-up, new Bands were formed just to split up again to reunite… The usual, I guess.
2. Can you tell us a nostalgic memory of yours?
There are many… but a music-related one would be, when I was a child, we would usually go to South of France for Summer vacation; camping on a free beach near Saint Marie de la Mer.
On the way to get there, we had a 10 hours drive and my father would only have like 3 cassette tapes, which he was playing like in a loop. Lucky me, my father has always had a great music taste. Tape No 1 was Bob Marley live at the lyceum, Tape No. 2 Supertramp, Breakfast in America, No. 3 Dire Straits (Communique). These 3 albums are still among my favorites and I guess, I’m not the only one.
3. What’s your favorite color?
Favorite color? Serious?
Ok, I like blue.
4 Will you tell us something embarassing about you?
This is getting better and better… 😊
There is nothing in particular – but I sure do embarrassing stuff all the time; But that’s ok, since I don’t take my self too important and I enjoy a good laugh about myself.
5. What’s the mid decade for music?
Every decade has its heights and flaws, in terms of almost everything including music.
From a music point of view, I prefer the 90ties. Such a wild, creative decade with so many great bands, like Oasis, Chili Pepper, Radio Head, Green Day, Nirvana… and so on.
6. What’s your favorite 2020’s album?
Porridge Radio – Every Bad
7.What’s the best experience you ever had while playing music?
Well, there is this moment, when you just get into a flow and you feel the music with every inch of your mind and body. You don’t play it anymore, it plays you.
Or while writing a new song, when you got like stuck for days, weeks, and suddenly its just there and you realize, this is it.
8. What music means to you?
This is difficult to answer. Music means almost everything to me.
Its like an universal language – it works with logic but at the same time, it touches us, makes us feel mellow, happy, sad, optimistic. A world without music would be an empty and desolate place.
9. Who was the walrus in "Magical Mystery Tour"? Paul or John?
Haha, very clever!
You know, there are questions that are meant to be unanswered.
But of course it was Paul. Or John 😊
