ARTIST INTERVIEW: LUCY WROE

Review

"Heartbeat Wipers" immediately enchants us with nostalgic piano keys that support Lucy's dreamy singing as she finds herself in the sky with the stars. Wroe's melodies keep us coming back for more as we watch the sunrise after a dark night. The lyrics of rejection contribute immensely to the consolidation of this gorgeous indie folk that relies on the northern lights. "Said goodbye a million times tonight, and I..." is a verse we take with us after listening to this work of art and it's the keys that glue all these introspective ideas together cohesively. Lucy Wroe breaks through the fog with existentialist questions augmented by Lucy's reverb and filtered through a dark blue cloth or veil that holds up the stars at night as we lie down and look at them.
