ARTIST INTERVIEW: KMALECTRO

Interview

Cru cru KMALECTRO, super nice to have the chance to chat with you. First and foremost what got you into music?

I was strongly influenced by my surroundings and the cultural diversity of my childhood. The people around me, who made music together, inspired me and showed me how powerful and expressive music can be. Music became a means of expressing my feelings and thoughts, and that's how my journey into the world of sounds began.

What’s the best decade for music?

It's hard to label a specific decade as the "best" for music because each decade had its unique contributions and styles. However, the diversity of the '70s had a profound impact on me, with artists like Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, and David Bowie creating groundbreaking music.

What’s your favorite electornic artist?

Given my love for a wide range of musical styles, it's hard for me to pin down a single electronic artist as my favorite. But if I had to choose, I would probably mention Aphex Twin for his unique approach to electronic music and his creative sonic landscapes.

What is a digital highway?

A digital highway is a metaphor for the information superhighway of the internet. It represents the rapid dissemination of data and information in the digital age that we all "travel" on. It plays a central role in my track "Digital Highway," which explores the evolution and challenges of the digital era.

Which techno albums would you recommend me?

Some techno albums I would recommend are "Selected Ambient Works 85-92" by Aphex Twin, "In Sides" by Orbital, and "Music Has the Right to Children" by Boards of Canada. These albums provide a great introduction to the world of techno and electronic music.

What’s your favorite album from the 70s?

My favorite album from the '70s is "Dark Side of the Moon" by Pink Floyd. It's a timeless masterpiece that explores the boundaries of music and remains captivating to this day.

What’s the best advice you ever gave?

The best advice I ever gave is probably to stay true to oneself and believe in one's dreams. It's essential to follow one's unique path and have faith in one's creative ideas, even if they may seem unconventional.

Name songs that are so infectious that you have to dance to them, no matter what!

Name songs that are so infectious that you have to dance to them, no matter what!**

Some songs that are so infectious that you can't help but dance to them include "Billie Jean" by Michael Jackson, "Stayin' Alive" by Bee Gees, and "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" by Michael Jackson. These songs have irresistible rhythms that invite you to dance.

What’s your favorite movie of all time?

My all-time favorite movie is "Blade Runner" by Ridley Scott. The dark science fiction atmosphere, stunning visual aesthetics, and captivating soundtrack have always fascinated me.

Do you agree with the Pigeon?

The question about the Pigeon reminds me of the enigmatic and multi-layered nature of art. Like a Pigeon, art can have many interpretations and meanings, and it often depends on the eye of the beholder or listener to decipher them. So, yes, in a way, the Pigeon may be right if it stands for diversity and interpretational freedom.

Review

"Digital Highway" immediately begs you to subscribe as soon as you enter this highly psychedelic and bombastic nocturnal rave that invites you into the world of Tron where flourishing colors and futuristic technology reign. The extraordinarily head-bopping beats easily portray the organized, almost dystopian chaos that revolves around a utopia from the future where electronic cars fly like spaceships!!!
