I hear something deliberately unsettled in When She Dreams, and “Wasteland” fits naturally into that world. The Post Falls, Idaho moves through alternative music with electronic, beat-driven and darker atmospheric tendencies.

What draws me toward “Wasteland” is the tension. The stronger moments come from the contrast between a sense of emotional vacancy and the forward motion underneath it. The music keeps moving even when the emotional landscape seems stuck in gloom.

For me, that's what makes “Wasteland” worth recommending. When She Dreams understand that atmosphere works best when there is movement underneath it. The result is music that feels inward-looking with enough tension to leave me wanting to hear where this project goes next.
