On Swinger, the Portland band turn interlocking guitars and bruised rhythm into a controlled jolt of momentum
Swinger arrived on May 28, 2026 as a one-song release that runs about three minutes. It follows the 2025 Black Dog Manor EP and the 2023 Parallel Narratives run, which helps frame this as a band still refining its shape of "well crafted interlocking guitar lines over low end, crashing drums and a tambourine man,".
I hear Swinger as a band getting more economical and showcasing its taste for unruly texture. For me, the strength is in the push and pull. Guitar figures that lock together long enough to feel hypnotic, a rhythm section that keeps the song moving and still leaving room for abrasion. It feels like a jam, and that gives the track real bite!
