impulse nine - NOTHING IS EASY

Music for your personal apocalypse.

A guitar-heavy, cinematic spectacle chronicling the grief of a string of familial deaths, and the joy of time spent with them, but it’s instrumental so you get all the emotional heft without having to listen to whiny lyrics.

After hundreds of demos and over two decades, impulse nine debuts to the world as an instrumental amalgam of shoegaze, hard rock, and post-rock, with influences from ambient, 90s rock, and many other places. The debut album, NOTHING IS EASY will be available on LP and CD on Bandcamp August 1st, and streams everywhere August 8th.

lizardream - Remember The Night

The moment we heard that opening line, by Boaz our bass player, something clicked. Each of us felt it: our own night, our own urge to remember. This is a song born from individual truth, woven into something collective. That’s the soul of lizardream. Our music blends emotional storytelling with folk-rock warmth and raw sincerity. We are an Israeli indie rock band, “Remember the Night” is our third single.

lizardream says: "less is more"

CS Hellmann - Burned Romances

"Burned Romances" stands out as a punchy punk rock-style recording, delivering a high-energy, melodic experience from start to finish. Recorded at Polychrome Ranch by Jared Corder and assistant engineer Kriss Jedd, this track showcases a unique blend of drum machines and live drums, creating a full-spectrum sound with fat bass, jangly guitars, and post-punk-inspired textures. CS Hellmann's upcoming live performance at The Underdog in East Nashville on August 13th promises to bring the infectious energy of "Burned Romances" to the stage, offering fans a chance to experience the raw power of their music in a live setting.

CS Hellmann says: There are too many trust fund kids in the music industry. Also Cabaret Voltaire is extremely underrated

Louie Fleck - DAMAGE CONTROL

Set to release on July 28, 2025, "DAMAGE CONTROL" by Louie Fleck is a homage to musical influences such as The Beatles, The Kinks, Tom Petty, and more. The album's genesis as a personal challenge evolved into a profound reflection of the chaotic world we live in today, as evident in the poignant lyrics. From the classic folk-rock vibes of "Don't You Know" to the nostalgic rock anthem "Three Chord Banger," the album showcases a diverse range of styles, from soft folky rock to hard-hitting tracks, all recorded at the Red Room Recording Studio in Brooklyn, highlighting a genuine and raw recording process.

Louie Fleck says: 'I am looking to find and create songs that have long-lasting significance, just like the music that means so much to me. From Bob Dylan to Bob Marley, The Beatles to Nellie McKay and Thao, it doesn't matter if it is from another time or recent, as long as there is some universal truth and a memorable melody within.'

Wotts - i'll see you when the game resets

We're Wotts, and indie pop band from Canada. This is our new single "i'll see you when the game resets". It's the final release from our EP FLANK! It takes a lot of inspiration from 90s bands like Blur and Pavement, and more recently, The Strokes.

Wotts says:

"Tears for Fears in the most underrated pop act in music history".

"Spotify will eventually gatekeep what music gets put on their platform, and that's not a bad thing."

Zachary Mason - The Funky Martians

Today I would love to present to you The Funky Martians, a quirky, fun track with a humorous spin and some groovy sounds. The song is actually the second track on an upcoming EP entitled: 5...4...3...2...1... which will tell the story of mankind fleeing from a ruined earth for the red sand of Mars and a new colony! In this single, released to introduce the EP, a colony ship lands on Mars only to be confronted by some hostile Martians! The song relates with humour how, due to a lucky mistake, the Martians are appeased!

The track has the sounds of Space, Psychedelic, and Experimental Rock. Drums were provided by Nate Barnes, a member of the critically acclaimed Rock Band Rose Hill Drive, and the Bass was played by John Thomasson, who plays for Little Big Town.

Zachary Mason says: "I think most modern music (with some exceptions) is trash..."

Andrew Siddle says:

Well I started off on learning blues scales, and rock of course, and have now moved on to New Age a lot of the while..Time moves on and you can keep the same basic culture and thoughts you always had inside...but you have to repackage everything and move on with the times as well.

I am New Age culture...but I loved learning blues scales for improvisation and lead guitar when I first started an interest in music...

Let me show you:

This is a blues'ey track I personally wrote and had produced about down and outs and tramps who used to hang out around the banks of the river Thames in London....All along the river Thams there are little sandy banks that build up mainly around the piers of bridges. Down and outs and meths drinkers used to hang out around there with no homes to go to in the late evening and make a fire to sit around. I was caught homeless one summer and joined them for a few months one year; years ago...

It; 's called "Father Thames" and uses a lot of special studio additions to create the echo outdoors and underground trains loud noises half way through. Also the loudness of the crowds:

On the other hand I can show you a couple of New Age tracks I've also done recently:

The Age of Aquarius - A New Age - written by me:

New Beginnings - written by me....studio single:

However I still listen to B B King, J J Cale, and all the old stuff as well because it's part of me....
