SIREN - Listen

After decades of refining their sound, South Florida melodic rock veterans SIREN have arrived at their defining moment with their new album, Listen — a ten song journey that bridges the soul of heartland rock with a sleek, contemporary edge.

At the center of it all is the title track, “Listen,” inspired by a cross-continental collaboration with two fans from Germany — a song that perfectly captures the band’s message of openness, connection, and creative renewal.

Interview with SIREN

“Listen” feels like a culmination of decades of evolution for SIREN. What does this album represent for you creatively and personally?

We feel like we have found our sound after many years of experimentation with different genres. It is a culmination of a lot of hard work from everyone in the band.

The record bridges heartland rock and modern melodic polish. How did you find the balance between classic and contemporary sounds?

That was part of the process of finding our sound. We know our limitations and try to keep it between the lines.

“Small Town” became a breakout moment with over a million TikTok views. How has that response impacted the band’s momentum?

Well my favourite saying is it’s the best song we have written until the next one!

It was nice to see the response from the listeners and fans. We just have to go back to work writing. New songs that can keep the attention of our fanbase, and in this day and time you can never have enough songs / videos / promotions.

You had the record mixed at Madison Studios with Wyatt Oates, along with Madison Studio's Tanner Hendon on guitar, and also brought in new band member Beth Cohen. How did those collaborations elevate the project?

We recorded everything at my studio in South Florida except for Tanner’s guitars, which were done at Madison Studios. All three are top notch professionals and each brings something essential to our sound.

The title track, “Listen,” was inspired by a cross-continental collaboration with fans from Germany. How did that connection come about?

It was the most difficult song to write. We went outside our normal process. Frank Hirnschal is a longtime Siren fan from Germany. He wanted to collaborate on a song with his friend Holgar and us. Frank had never played guitar but did a great job on the rhythm parts we wrote for him. He trained for 6 months. It all worked out well in the end.

The lyric video came out amazing!

“Nightmare Paradise” offers a new take on the Bonnie and Clyde story. What drew you to reinterpret that legend through your music?

It seemed like a cool topic to revisit and add a new spin on the story.

Storytelling has always been central to SIREN’s sound. How do you approach writing lyrics that stay emotionally grounded while telling vivid stories?

I write from the heart using personal experiences with a lot of metaphor. The names have been changed to protect the innocent … lol

Your sound carries the influence of Springsteen and Petty. What keeps that heartland spirit relevant to today’s listeners?

That is some very good company to be compared to as an artist. We just try and be ourselves. Everybody else has been taken.

After years in the industry, how do you keep your creative energy fresh and authentic?

I love writing music and stories. Mike and I have collaborated for over 20 years. I love a blank sheet of paper. It means we are starting to work on something new. Mike is such a great writer and musician along with being a great producer.

Looking ahead, what do you hope Listen communicates to both longtime fans and new listeners discovering SIREN for the first time?

I hope the listeners can connect with the musical stories that we write, and support our brand as SIREN.
