Interview with Richard Green

>What inspired you to create “Fake Moments,” and what emotions or experiences influenced its composition?

- This track, as all the full EP "Illusions " has been composed in a period of my life where I was a bit upset and negative. This song is my reflection on how moments of happiness, sometimes, are only illusions, something elusive that when it disappears sends us the bill to pay.... that's why the title is "FAKE MOMENTS"...

> How did completing the recording process in under two days impact the final sound and emotional depth of the track?

-Of course, two days without a mix and the post production, but true that all the instrument parts, melody, arrangements were composed even in less than two days...that I took a few weeks to listen it again and record the strings section in a music studio.

By the way , conclude a music idea faster is something i do often and on my opinion, conclude the idea quick gives a lot in term of expressivity, i mean, in a short time, it is likely that the emotions we want to put into a song are clearer, this is because human emotions change with time, therefore, to best describe that moment I prefer close my musical idea at that moment in our lives.

> The string performances in “Fake Moments” are stunning , how did you approach arranging and collaborating with the musicians involved?

- Composing and arrangement parts are very natural for me, and the musicians are sensational..it is the strings quartet i met for my neoclassical music project , Archimia strings quartet, surely amazing musicians and I'm very lucky to could work with them

> Your work blends classical and modern elements seamlessly. How do you find balance between tradition and innovation in your music?

-Honestly speaking, it s all natural for me and while i compose I use a lot my ear and it s mainly about feeling and expressivity, for my music is a language and i do not really think about music, just when i wanna something specific , like a funky guitar or a raggea groove or simile, but most of the time i follow my ears and emotions.

>How has your time studying and working between London and Milan shaped your artistic identity?

-Honestly Milan is my base and i came back cause i met amazing musicians to work with and they are italian, plus I have a very important music studio close to my hometown, but as musician i m grateful to my 11 years in london, that s where i grew up a lot as musician and composer, never be able to do what i m doing without my experiences in London.

You’ve explored a wide range of genres, from experimental to neoclassical to techno. What drives you to keep experimenting with new styles?

-This is because i never set to myself limits in term of music style and probably the classical elements came out for mainly two reasons, my music wanna be very artistic and quite "free", plus guitar was not the instruments i loved when i was kid, i wanted play piano and i loved strings since my very young age, but then i picked up guitar.... So, my music tends to combine elements from several type of music, indeed other project of mine are mainly techno/electro and a new one is a kind of hip-hop /electro/rap music beat that is going to be released very soon.

> Can you tell us more about your upcoming melodic techno EP and how it connects to or contrasts with your previous work?

I do not talk about contrasts, i prefer describe it as connections, from my very begin as music /producer i wanted to create a kind of "personal sign",something that differentiated me from the millions of musicians there are today, a unique character of mine... it sounds strange , i know, but this is why I m not working to make the HIT, the single who will be on the top for an year. Instead, I'm working more on giving a lot of music of different styles. Making a great song is one thing. Being reflected as a composer and recognized as an artist with unique characteristics gives me a much more solid foundation in the musical world and perhaps the opportunity to work with many other musicians, rather than making two great songs and risking disappearing after a year.

> What do you hope listeners feel or take away when they hear “Fake Moments”?

This is not something i can do, I know what i wanted to describe and say with this tune but music is very personal, music as art form it s a personal journey and my only wish is be able to say something to the listener, what it will be about himself and his life experiences, music is a personal journey , connected to our life experiences i think.

How did your collaboration with Irene Veneziano and the Archimia Quartet come about, and what have they brought to your music?

I admit, I thank COVID for this....during that time, all the concerts and gigs were canceled. and many musicians work online,...Irene did not but she had much more time free time so she helped me for a record of en ep...from that moment we build up a nice friendshit and we worked on 3 music ep......the same, just in a second moment, happened with Archimia....and again, i m consider myself super lucky to can work with amazing music as them, especially Irene Veneziano that s really a worldwide famouse pianist, (played fro tokyio to new york)
