Exzenya - Till I'm Drunk & Confused
The track blends elements of folk-pop, acoustic pop, and indie pop, built around ukulele, acoustic guitar, and a modern rhythmic feel. All vocals are recorded live with no autotune or AI.
“Till I’m Drunk & Confused” tells the story of losing someone because of alcohol, and later confronting that truth through the same denial cycle. The production is upbeat and acoustic-driven, contrasting with the lyrical honesty.
Based in Remote, United States, Exzenya emerges as a rising indie artist with the release of her original single, "Drunk Texting." The track, which dropped on 06th May 2025, delves into a satirical yet soulful narrative inspired by a real-life incident involving her son during a chaotic Miami trip. With a blend of pop, R&B, and comedy sketch elements, Exzenya's independent imprint, Exzenya Productions, brings a raw and personal touch to her music, resonating with audiences worldwide. The final mix and master, expertly crafted by a trusted engineer, enhances the layered vocals and emotional storytelling, creating a captivating listening experience.
Interview with Exzenya

(º)> You write across multiple genres. What keeps you inspired to keep experimenting?
I’ve never experienced emotion as a single thread, so writing in one genre has never made sense to me. Human experiences don’t arrive neatly categorized as pop, R&B, folk, or soul. They arrive layered, woven, and threaded together with multiple strands — often contradictory and messy.
What keeps me inspired is following that emotional truth wherever it leads. Different textures are threaded together to carry different emotional weight, and each song reveals what it needs sonically as it unfolds. Genre becomes a language choice, not a limitation.
What truly keeps me going is the consistent positivity I receive from fans, tastemakers, curators, and platform communities. Seeing people connect, reflect, and respond thoughtfully — especially across multiple releases — reinforces that exploration is resonating. That feedback loop fuels the curiosity and keeps the creative process alive.
(º)> This song deals with alcohol. loss. and denial. How did writing it help you process those emotions?
Writing Till I’m Drunk & Confused wasn’t about processing a single event — it was about observing a pattern that shows up repeatedly in human behavior. Alcohol, in this song, isn’t the subject; it’s the mechanism people often use when they don’t yet know how to sit with pain, or may not be ready to face it.
Writing allowed me to observe that cycle with clarity and then place myself inside the character emotionally — to feel what they feel while still understanding the structure of the behavior. That balance made the song honest without being heavy-handed. It didn’t remove the emotion, but it gave it form, awareness, and direction.

(º)> Fans often connect deeply to honest storytelling. What messages have listeners shared with you about this track?
The most consistent response has been how strongly the song lands emotionally. People often say, “This hits hard,” or “The lyrics are deep.” That tells me the emotional clarity is coming through.
Listeners respond to the contrast — the brightness of the music paired with the weight of the message — and many have shared that the song stays with them after the first listen. That lingering connection is meaningful to me, because it means the storytelling is doing what it’s meant to do.
(º)> All eight of your 2025 singles have charted consistently. What has that validation meant to you as an independent artist?
It’s been affirming in a steady, grounded way. Consistent charting across releases tells me that people are responding to the work as a whole, not just to individual moments. It shows that there’s trust forming between the music and the audience.
As an independent artist, that consistency matters because it reflects sustainability. It confirms that focusing on craft, clarity, and emotional honesty can build something lasting without shortcuts.

(º)> You’ve balanced music with a background in psychology and behavior analysis. How do those worlds connect for you?
They connect through understanding and compassion. I’m not interested in diagnosing people, but I am interested in teaching through music — relating through music — and creating gentleness and understanding for oneself and for fellow human beings.
Psychology and behavior analysis gave me insight into patterns, coping mechanisms, and emotional cycles. Music allows those insights to be shared in a way that feels human, accessible, and non-judgmental. Together, they create space for recognition and growth without pressure or shame.
(º)> What would you tell listeners who might see themselves reflected in this song?
I’d tell them that recognition is a positive moment. At times the song may feel uncomfortable — and if so, that can be a sign that avoidance no longer works and clarity is beginning to take form.
Seeing situations for what they are is a positive sign of growth. It’s where awareness and behavioral change can begin to coexist. The song isn’t asking for perfection — it’s offering understanding, honesty, and space to move forward with clarity.
(º)> Looking back at your journey so far. What moment made you realize you were truly building something sustainable?
That realization came when I started paying attention to the repetition, reactions, and thoughtful comments from people who genuinely love the music I’m creating. Not just numbers — but the consistency of response, recognition, and respect across releases.
When listeners, curators, and writers began engaging with the work in a way that reflected understanding of the emotional intent, I knew the foundation was solid. That’s when sustainability became visible — not as a goal, but as something already taking shape.
