Interview with Bitblood

(º)> What inspired the concept behind your sophomore album and its cohesive storyline?
AI is becoming increasingly influential in our everyday lives. There are numerous ethical discussions about whether it should be controlled. That was the starting point for "Out of Control".
(º)> How did you approach weaving the narrative through tracks like "Out of Control," "Slave to the Machines," "Götterdämmerung," and "The Life"?
I started with "Out of Control" as a standalone piece. From then on, I was captivated by the sound and wanted to continue with it. So the story begins to unfold over a series of tracks that are connected like a small opera.

(º)> Can you describe the evolution of your sound from your previous work to this new album?
The first album was experimental with different sounds. It was less mature than the new album. Nevertheless, I like the result. I have now found my sound. Depending on the lyrics, I vary between alternative, indie and new wave, and try to combine the styles with each other.
(º)> How do nature-inspired elements influence your musical style and production choices?
I love nature and enjoy being outdoors. In this way, nature and walks in the open air inspire me to create new songs and sounds.

(º)> What is the core message behind your single "music is the cure"?
Music is indispensable to me. It helps me get through difficult times and not become depressed. That's also the story behind the song.
(º)> How do you hope listeners will connect emotionally with the healing power of music in your songs?
I hope that music can help them too, at least for a while, to forget the world around them.

(º)> What was your creative process for writing lyrics that convey both romance and solace?
The lyrics are shaped by feelings and experiences. And then there's that moment that triggers the idea for the song. It could be anything. I often write songs when I'm sitting on a plane during business trips. Maybe that's also a moment of loneliness.
(º)> How do you balance innovative rock elements with melodic accessibility for listeners?
I pay close attention to creating a harmonious overall picture and try to repeat as little as possible. This allows me to combine different elements with each other.
(º)> How has your experience in Potsdam, Germany, shaped your musical identity and sound?
I grew up with New Wave sounds like Anne Clark, Depeche Mode and so on. And their music was very influential. But I also covered parts of Goethe's Erlkönig for the song Fever. In that sense, living in Germany and Potsdam influenced my music.
(º)> Last but not least, what can fans expect from live performances or future releases following this album?
I don't have any plans for live performances yet. That depends a little on the response and how things develop. But I'm thinking about a DJ set with animation.
