The #159 edition of Pigeon Spins Electro is here! Featuring the No Jazz EP, and an interview with Warm Knives!

Warm Knives - No Jazz EP

Following the debut EP No Jazz, Warm Knives returns with “buona fortuna”, a live session recorded at Jupiter Ranch Studios that offers a glimpse into the project's upcoming full-length album, currently in its final stages of production.

Led by producer John Distefano (bass, synth, loops) with the collaboration for the live performance of Łukasz Ciesiołkiewicz (vibraphone, electric piano), Warm Knives crafts a sound that drifts between ambient, deconstructed jazz, and minimalist electronica. “buona fortuna” is a meditative piece, where space and restraint become powerful narrative tools.

The live session captures a raw and immersive performance that highlights the duo’s subtle interplay and analog warmth; a sonic atmosphere that feels both intimate and expansive. This track marks a compelling new phase for Warm Knives: deeply personal, sonically adventurous, and quietly cinematic.

Interview with Warm Knives

ree

(•)> What first got you into music?

My family is quite musical, even though in radically different ways.

I've got my first bass guitar because my childhood friend wanted to make a band, and we were 14.

(•)> What's your favorite album of all time?

There are too many. I couldn't live without Diamond Mine from King Creosote and John Hopkins, or Valtari by Sigur Rós.

(•)> What record from the 2020s do you replay the most?

Lately, Blood Hair and Eyeballs by Alkaline Trio.

(•)> What should the Pigeon listen to next?

I hope my new record

(•)> What memorable answers have you had to your work so far?

Someone got a tattoo of my old band 10 years ago or so, which was quite dope.

ree

(•)> Who is your inspiration when creating music?

Any kind of life experience is a boost. Other music too.

(•)> Which film do you rewatch the most?

I have rewatched Lost in Translation numerous times. Lately, maybe Villeneuve's Dune.

(•)> How is your perfect day?

Coffee, producing, and cinema with my wife.

(•)> Will you tell us something embarrassing about you?

Never

(•)> Do you sing in the shower? If yes, what's the setlist?

Circle Jerks, some Italian melodic hardcore anthems for sure. Or Misfits

ree

(•)> What's your Hot Take - your most controversial music opinion?

Perhaps many modern artists crafting songs solely to reach the Spotify algorithm, for instance, don't necessarily have something to say, unfortunately.
