Mac Wood has never shied away from his struggles with his mental health and ‘Sea’ focuses on using vivid metaphorical imagery to portray the loneliness and isolation mental health issues can inflict on people. Having written the song when he was just 16 years old, Mac hopes others can find relatability and refuge in knowing they can be open with their struggles and don’t have to be lost at “Sea” alone. ‘Sea’ will feature as the 3rd song of his upcoming EP and offers a more introspective and emotive sound that appeals to the mainstream while complementing his indie anthems.

Succeeding in uniquely blending thought-provoking and personal lyricism with catchy, anthemic alternative rock choruses, Mac creates an unforgettably honest and powerful sound. Effortlessly handcrafting nostalgic and powerful indie rock anthems and bringing them to the age of social media, Wood's music has been described as ‘what the world needs right now’.

Having grown up in Southeast Asia, before moving to the UK and studying songwriting in Birmingham, Wood is open about his struggles with mental health and uses his music as a way of empowerment. His time spent living overseas has given the songwriter a unique outlook on life in the UK, which is shown in his diverse range of music, from his indie and pop rock anthems to his introspective acoustic tracks.

Despite having performed, written, and studied music all his life, Wood made his long-awaited debut in May of 2025 and has never looked back. His Debut Single ‘The Times’ was excellently received by both fans as well as bloggers and critics, and has had features in music sites such as ‘We Write About Music’, ‘Cage Riot’, Reyt Good Media’ and ‘The Big Takeover’. After his second release, 'Don't Mind My Chatter' (featured as Brum Radio's track of the week) Wood is now awaiting the release of his debut EP in 2026. Along with this EP Wood hopes he can break out even further into the indie rock scene and cement his name as a true up-and-comer.

Performing at iconic venues around England such as ‘The Spice of Life’ (London) and The O2 Academy (Birmingham), Wood has also partnered with ‘War Child’ and performed a 30-minute set at their studios in London raising over £1100 for the charity.
