The song “Dreamer,” which forms part of HZPROD’s concept album titled “War Torn,” is a hip hop song whose production is alternative and that features a storyline revolving around such issues as inequality and exploitation among other social problems yet keeping an uplifting tone through the theme of hope and belief in overcoming difficult circumstances.
HZPROD uses his first-hand understanding of the realities of war and displacement resulting from wars by having grown up amid the Bosnian War and been born in that era before moving to New York City. This song, whose production fuses the boom-bap style with some experiments in sound production, addresses global issues in African and Middle Eastern countries.
The song also incorporates lyrics that reflect realistic situations in the world today while maintaining the theme of hope through the hook of the song. This song is meant to create awareness in the long run for different nations that have been affected by the issue being addressed through donations made to charities like Save the Children.
