Newhalem’s self-titled album arrived on July 4, 2025, and for me it plays like a songwriter learning how much force restraint can carry. After the 2024–25 singles and High Drive EP, this full-length feels like a consolidation. With titles like “Careful,” “Hasty,” “Sanctuary,” “Dumpster Diving,” and “Caterwaul” sketching a world of anxiety, shelter, and friction. That tension gives the record its pulse. Newhalem lets these songs hover between inward confession and a rougher charge. What I admire most is the discipline. Newhalem earns its catharsis by staying close to the bone and trusting the melody to do the heavy lifting.
