“sewn on” finds Tacoma's Modern Daze pushing their alternative-rock foundation deeper into shoegaze haze and slow-burning melodic detail

The Tacoma band have been consistently circling alternative rock, dream pop, emo, grunge and shoegaze, and this latest single feels especially comfortable inside that overlap. At 3:59, it has enough room to let the atmosphere develop keeping the directness and emotional tension.

What catches me is the balance between weight and blur. The haze seems to soften the edges of the songwriting while the underlying rock structure keeps everything moving.
