There is a precise art to making existential dread sound like an absolute party. Membership's latest single, "Come and Go," caught me completely off guard in the best way possible. This new release feels like a band flinging open the studio windows to let the daylight in.

For me, the track’s brilliance lies in its relentless rhythm section. The bassline hits you instantly—a thick, unhinged funk groove that channels Discovery-era Daft Punk meets the sharp indie-dance sensibilities of Phoenix. Membership weaves a deeply melancholic synth melody right through the center of the mix. The production is also brilliantly kinetic. Every percussion hit pops with a crisp, physical snap, and the sparkling guitar stabs during the chorus add a beautiful layer of sunshine.

What really seals it for me, though, is the artistic growth hidden in the songwriting. The vocal performance anchors the track's frantic energy with a cool, nonchalant delivery, breezing through lyrics about fleeting connections and time slipping away. By the time the song reaches its brilliant, horn-flanked final chorus, you realize Membership have built a masterclass in cathartic pop.
