Julia Kate is a 20-year-old singer/songwriter from Sherman Oaks, CA., and yes, she’s a valley girl, so please don’t judge. Julia is currently a student at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA studying songwriting and music business.
Growing up, she was inspired by artists like Taylor Swift, Lorde, Billie Eilish and Lana Del Rey, but she loves all sorts of music and is happiest at places like Coachella.

Julia began writing her own original songs in high school when she was introduced by a family friend to producer Johnny What (JuiceWRLD, Pentatonix). Johnny took Julia under his wing, and along with musical director Nick Rosen and Jacob Wick, formerly with the band Dreamers, the threesome crafted Julia’s first EP, “just a kid” (released in 2022).
Before heading to Berklee in the fall of 2023, Julia went back into the studio with Nick Rosen and recorded her second EP, “yearbook,” released in September 2023. When home from school, Julia Kate often gigs around Los Angeles at venues like The Hotel Café and The Mint. Julia Kate released the single, “beverly hills,” in the October of 2024, and thus far, it has quickly become her largest streamed song in her young career. Her latest single, “fake friends,” which she describes as Deborah Harry meets Chappell Roan was released in January 2025 with more new music due in 2025.
