Jet///Lag Keep the Hooks Sharp and the Nerves Exposed

On I’ll Be The Same, the Seattle indie-punk quartet sharpen melodic punk riffs and emo bite into a compact EP that feels restless and self-aware
The Seattle band keep the guitars brisk and the choruses bright, and the tension underneath makes the EP click! “Fireside” opens in self-destructive territory, “How to Be” turns insecurity into a chantable hook, and “Lucky for Now” stretches the emotional weight over a longer and more spacious frame. Don Farwell’s production at Earwig Studios gives the songs a clean punch, so the melodies land hard when the lyrics are spiraling. For me, “Rocket” is the standout because it captures the EP’s urgency and a refusal to stay still. At 20 minutes, the record feels concise and that economy suits a band writing with this much nerve.
