Jaded In Paradise Bite Down Hard on Pit

After the sharp-edged debut of Tough Girl, the Connecticut post-punk quartet sounds more more dangerous, and more certain of its own nerve

Jaded In Paradise bills itself as a four-member punk/alternative group from New England, and on Pit I hear that identity sharpened into something lean and confrontational. The band announced debut single Tough Girl for April 24, and then pushed Pit out as its latest release in May 2026.

For me, the striking thing about Pit is how little it wastes time. Where Tough Girl reads like an introduction, Pit feels like the sound of a band settling into its own voltage. Tighter, more deliberate, and more interested impact than polish. I hear a group working with punk’s immediacy and there’s a controlled tension here, a push-pull between abrasion and melody that gives the track its shape. What lingers is the confidence in the arrangement. Pit sounds like a band learning exactly how much pressure a song can take before it starts to break beautifully!
