INTERVIEW: MICHAEL PELOSO

Cru Cru

MICHAEL, super nice to have the chance to chat with you! How did you get into music?

Hi! Thanks for having me. Music always has been a major part of my life. It’s always been there. I started creating my own compositions around the age of 14. Looking back, they weren’t very good, but they laid a foundation. I always knew it was something that would I wanted to be a part of in some shape or form. I’m lucky to be able to create it. I do not take that for granted. It will always be a part of me.

2. Can you tell us a nostalgic memory of yours?

I’ll always remember the first album I ever purchased with my own money. It was Reo Speedwagon’s “Hi-Infidelity” back in 1980. I remember it vividly. Taking the car ride with my father, entering the store, heading up the escalator to the second floor that led right to the music section. The store was called Two-Guys in Kearny, NJ. 42 years later & I remember it like it was yesterday. I played that record until it turned to dust.

3. What’s your favorite color?

Navy Blue

4 Will you tell us something embarrassing about you?

I’m 50 years old. I’m long passed being embarrassed. 😊

5. What’s the top decade for music?

I have been lucky to have 5 decades of musical exposure. I think each decade has something to offer.

6. What’s your favorite 2020’s album?

I have a few. I really like Katie Pruitt’s “Expectations”, Kathleen Edward’s “Total Freedom” & Robert Plant & Allison Krauss’ “Raise the Roof”. There are so many more. The list could go on forever.

7. What’s the best experience you ever had while playing music?

Just seeing people’s reaction to something you’ve poured your heart & soul into always brings me joy. Nothing beats that!

8. What does music mean to you?

Music is my joy.

9. Do you like rewinding memories?

I try not to focus on the past too often. These are moments that shape us & are just that. Moments. With that said, there is a comfort to it that many find. That is what my new song, Rewind is about. Those memories can help comfort you in the present. Especially, if you’re dealing with hard times.

10. Do You agree with the Pigeon?

The Pigeon is always right. 😊
