INTERVIEW: INTERCON7INENTAL

1. Hey Intercontinen7al, super nice to have the chance to chat with you. What first got you into music?

Hey there, Matt from INTERCONTINEN7AL! I would say that my first music memory is rocking out to the Beach Boys when I was six years old. My parents were the ones that introduced me to 60's/70's music - they taught me well :)

2. What’s your favorite 70’s artist?

Led Zeppelin, hands down! They have always been a massive influence on my songwriting.

3. What accomplishments do you see yourself achieving in the next 5 to 10 years?

Musically, I hope that our band INTERCONTINEN7AL releases a few more albums, with each record's profits being designated to a different global charity.

4. Do you consider yourself a music fan?

For sure! I live and breathe it, and with our BandLab community INTERCONTINEN7AL, I have found myself more dedicated to music than ever before. It is by far my greatest passion.

5. What jobs have you done other than being an artist?

I think my most intriguing jobs have both been one day tasks - testing emergency evacuation ramps for airplanes, and serving as an extra for a Die Hard movie!

6. What is the biggest challenge of being an artist?

I would say the biggest challenge is building an audience in an extremely crowded environment. There is so much competition that exists, that it can be hard to break through and establish a name for yourself.

7. Can you tell us a cringe memory of yours?

Having to wear a jaw expander for a few weeks in freshman year of high school - I didn't realize how much I took the simple act of verbal communication for granted.

8. Who is your inspiration?

My musical inspiration would be Chris Cornell.

9. Do you listen to podcasts?

Yes, I tend to listen to podcasts as well as watch Youtube video channels. My latest favorites are SmartLess and Rick Beato.

10. Do You Agree with the Pigeon?
