INTERVIEW: CRIS MANTELLO

1. Cru Cru Cris Mantello , super nice to have the chance to chat with you!

What first got you into music?

Howdy Pigeon, it’s a pleasure to be here. When I was 12/13 years old I was

introduced to “contemporary” music by friends who were older than me, may-

be that’s the reason why I use to listen music from the past decades.

2. Can you tell us a cringe memory of yours?

It was 15 years ago, more or less. I used to perform 120-130 gig a year, one

night I had a total black out about the lyrics of my main single, I had to impro-

vise the words. I know there’s a recording of it. I never had the guts to listen

to it. I blame the alcohol.

3. What’s your favorite food?

Poulet im Chörbli mit pommes frites, which is a Swiss German dish, from

Canton Uri. It is basically a roasted half chicken with a butter based sauce

and French fires. You find the best Poulet im Chörbli at Burg Hotel in Attin-

ghausen (UR, CH), they also have the spicy sauce. Just a tip: order 2 por-

tions, once I ate 4.

4 Will you tell us something embarassing about you?

When I forget the words or the chords of my own songs, performing live. So-

metimes it happens.

5. What’s the best decade for music?

1945-1955.

6. What’s your favorite 50’s artist?

Hank Williams Sr.

7.What’s the best advice you ever gave?

I guess none! I’m kidding. The best advice I ever gave is: make your mind

clear, before any action. If you have the idea clear in your mind, you’re half

the way to the result.

8. How is your musosoup experience going?

It’s going very well. The music I’m producing is what I like to do in that speci-

fic moment and I want to reach the largest audience possible. And Musosoup

contributes to mak it possible.

9. What’s your favorite 70’s album?

Eagles’ Hotel California.

10. Do You agree with the Pigeon?

Always, of course.

The Pigeon added the new single to his Weekly Gems playlist on Spotify.
