1. Cru Cru CLAPMUTT, super nice to have the chance to chat with you! What first got you into Music?
Hi Pigeon! Super Duper lovely to chat with you as well!
Since I was very young, I used to love Music. I remember singing all the time, and my brother would play the guitar whilst I would listen to it. After that, however, I avoided Music in all ways due to fear and thinking I didn't deserve it, approaching all other art types until Music finally blossomed in my life. I had singing and piano classes when I was a teenager, but something inside me was constantly pulling it away from me and, somehow, bringing it back to me.
2. Can you tell us a nostalgic memory of yours?
I hope you don't mind me sharing a few:
- I remember being young and playing with my Mcdonalds' toys and painting them on with my filter pens, ending up having them covered with red and dark blue tones.
- I remember having a music stereo where I would always buy cassette tapes, and in the evening, I would go outside to my house and play Music to the neighbours where I would sing regardless if they were watching.
- I remember watching movies over and over until I knew all the lines and played them.
3. Have you ever been into avant - garde music?
YES! That's my main style when I do contemporary dance.
4 What's your favorite way of clapping?
Ahahah, good question! I've always been told I have an intense way of clapping. But now, I don't know how to explain, but I like to clap with my fingers on the palm of my opposite hand and constantly swap. Does that make sense?
5. What's the best decade for Music?
This decade has been pretty sick so far.
6. What's your favourite artist?
Lady Gaga from head to toe! I also have other artists I also love, like Benjamin Clementine, Whitey, Tom Waits and Nirvana.
7. What's the best advice you ever gave?
My best friend says it was 'What is deserved won't pass you by'. But I philosophy a lot of advice, especially when channelling in Tarot readings. The strongest one that resonated with me a lot is, "When your ego gets impatient and makes you think it is too late, it's because this is exatcly the right timing."
Ohh! And another one: "When trying to please someone, you're subconsciously saying that your real self is not enough."
8. What does hyperpop actually mean to you?
I am not sure yet, although I wouldn't be surprised if my future songs will be a mix of it with Avant- Garde. I love SOPHIE and Charlie XCX, for instance, and I have a sense it will be the future.
9. What's your favorite electronic album?
Lady Gaga- ARTPOP.
10. Do You agree with the Pigeon?
Hmmmm… I'd say Yes.
BONUS QUESTION: Are you inspired by the Joker?
Maybe subconsciously. But The idea of the clown trademark just came up as a solution for people to recognise me. I was told that I was too versatile to the point that people couldn't recognise me from one creation to another. So through experiences, I found the idea of the lipstick and the plaster bow tie reminded me of when people would call me a clown at school, and I didn't enjoy it. So the fact of not enjoying it made me want to bring it outside and explore it
