1. Cru Cru Franklin, super nice to have the chance to chat with you! What first got you into music?
Thank you for having me! I always had to take music class in school, and I would end up acting out, getting punished, and sweeping or cleaning the classroom so the other students were able to learn. Sometimes the punishment was to come after school and tune every guitar (there were like 50). So I would sit there and tune the guitars by myself in this little shed that was essentially a trailer turned into a music building by the broke Arizona public school system. I started then to like the feeling of the guitar in my hands, but it went until years later that I would decided to play
2. What’s your favorite movie?
Favorite movie is Godfather Part 1. Every time there’s a party or some kind of celebration something sinister is going on underneath. Think it's pretty true for life.
3. What jobs have you done other than being an artist?
I’ve been a bartender since I was virtually a child. One of the best jobs on earth, if you have good knees
4. What is the biggest challenge of being an artist?
The biggest challenge is the work. Brining something from the center of myself out into the light is always a daunting task
5.Have you seen a Tv showcalled Franklin, the turtle?
Yes, Franklin the turtle and I go way back. In fact, at the age where I was being punished in music class, the theme song from that show was used to signal I was coming around.
6. What’s your favorite song?
Today it’s “If I Keep on Going Crazy” by Mel Mcdaniel but that’s subject to change
7. What’s your favorite 70’s artist?
Wow! The 70s were an awesome time for music. Off the top of my head I would have to say Led Zeppelin. They took the blues form and did their own thing with it. Obviously they copied a lot of people, but there’s obviously something original that they brought to the table. Nothing like riding the highway, windows down, listening to Whole Lotta Love
8. What accomplishments do you see yourself achieving in the next 5 to 10 years?
I try not to measure time in that way. I want to write the best damn songs I can over the next decade, and if whatever else I’m doing facilitates that, then I will be happy.
9. Are you a music fan?
I’m a music fan for sure, though I go through periods where I take a break from listening.
10. Do You agree with the Pigeon
Not 100 percent sure what this question is asking, but if you’re asking if I like your publication, then yes!
