On their self-titled debut EP, the London sextet transforms contemporary jazz into an immersive, groove-rich experience where improvisation and atmosphere flourish in equal measure

The London-based sextet describes its sound as a fusion of contemporary jazz, Afro rhythms, and immersive soundscapes, and this five-track debut delivers on that promise. Opening with the fluid pulse of “REEFHIKE,” the EP immediately establishes a language built on patient grooves, textured harmony, and collective musicianship. “DAISY CHAIN” expands that palette with lyrical interplay between horns and rhythm section, while “MR JACKSON” stretches into a confident, exploratory jam that always keeps its melodic center. The spoken-word meditation of “INTERLUDE” briefly shifts the mood before the live recording of “IN A JOYFUL MOOD” closes the EP with infectious spontaneity, proving that the band's chemistry thrives just as naturally onstage as it does in the studio.

For me, the EP's greatest strength is its sense of collective conversation. Every instrument serves the larger atmosphere. I hear touches of nu jazz, Afrobeat, fusion, and spiritual jazz. The music feels organic and playful. This debut introduces a promising ensemble and it establishes a musical identity rooted in curiosity, groove, and genuine trust.
