FERB Make Frustration Sound Focused on “Killing It”

After the restless sprawl of “Provence,” the London quartet sound leaner, meaner, and more decisive than ever. “Provence” seems to be a turning point for the band, while the upcoming “Killing It” is being teased as their next single on 29 July 2026.

I’ve spent time with ferb’s “Provence” and the story around “Killing It,” and what stands out is how clearly this band understands contrast. “Provence” arrives as a more restrained, shoegaze-infused alt-rock statement after earlier singles more aggressive and post-punk-leaning.

Meanwhile, Killing It came from frustration with the London scene, pushed them back toward their post-punk roots, and promises to be their most immediate banger, built around wall-of-sound textures that helped shape their current writing.

For me, that tension is exactly where FERB get interesting. They are using softness and agression to sharpen the same emotional point, it sounds like a band getting more deliberate about dynamics, atmosphere, and release. “Killing It” lands as a statement of intent.
