Elektric Rokband Let the Currents Collide on Audio Currents / Dream Circuits

The Finnish instrumental group turns jazz harmony, hard-rock weight, and into one elastic statement. Loud up front, more atmospheric as it deepens, and always alive to surprise

Elektric Rokband’s Audio Currents / Dream Circuits is an eight-song 2025 album, and I hear it as a band learning how to make contrast do the heavy lifting. Evolving compositions and shifting dynamics, with heavy riffs, jazz-influenced harmony, and cinematic textures. The A-side leans harder into rock while the B-side opens up into slower, more harmonic, more atmospheric terrain. That split gives the record shape.

“Got a Stank?” carries a hybrid-blues swagger, “Twilight (Inversion)” becomes the bridge between the two halves, with Devina Boughton’s trumpet cutting through the arrangement, and “Kinetic Drift” pushes the jazz impulse forward keeping the impact. The band sounds like it is arranging ideas until they click. On Audio Currents / Dream Circuits, Elektric Rokband create instrumentals that feel both deliberate and instinctive.
