Cosmic Kitten Turn Tenderloin Into a Pressure Cooker

A 30-minute live set that strips the songs to muscle and nerve, revealing a band growing sharper with every detuned jab

Released January 1, 2026 on Psyched! Records, Cosmic Kitten (LIVE at TENDERLOIN 2025) compresses 11 songs into just over 30 minutes, which is exactly the right frame for a band somewhere between alternative rock, post-grunge and punk. The push-pull between softness and catharsis always marked the identity of Cosmic Kitten, and this set leans into that tension.The guitars arrive with a dry, serrated bite, while the rhythm section keeps everything moving with the kind of impatient momentum live albums often lose.

What grabs me is how little the performances feels like a victory lap. The opening “Never see you again,” the snarling “Your Insult,” the fist-tight “Do it Alone” and the built-in “Drum Solo” make the sequence feel engineered for impact. Even the funniest title on the record, “Here’s to Your Fuck,” carries a mean, wiry energy. For me, the best live records clarify a band’s instincts. Here, Cosmic Kitten sound more focused, more muscular and more willing to let abrasion do the melodrama.
