Bloating Make Brutal Death Metal Feel Genuinely Nasty Again
Methods of Extraction is short, filthy, heavy, and completely uninterested in wasting your time. This thing just punches you in the face!

Review
I’m hearing Bloating for the first time and, yeah, this is nasty.
Like, properly nasty. Methods of Extraction doesn’t hang around trying to build some huge dramatic intro before getting to the point. It just drops you straight into these ugly, low-slung riffs and absolutely smashed drums. Everything feels heavy in a very physical way. The guitars sit down in that gross, grinding part of the register where the whole thing starts to feel almost claustrophobic.
“Pot of Bones” was the one that immediately caught me. The riffs keep lurching forward instead of settling into one obvious groove, and I really like how the drums push those changes without making the songs feel overly busy. Then there’s “The Method of Extraction,” which is basically this weird little 34-second blast of noise sitting in the middle.
Coming to Bkloating with no prior knowledge, I like how little padding there is here. Three proper tracks, all short, all brutal!
