It opens with "1st Movement: In Nomine Patris" an epic orchestral dramatic melancholic piece that for me evokes the day when the sky or sun will fall on our heads!!! This introduction uses beautiful symphonic progressions with wonderful textures, but with a tragic layer underneath.
Also noteworthy are impressive textures that make this a masterpiece - it feels like I'm in the theater watching a stellar dramatic play! Let yourself be carried away in the clouds and fly with this gorgeous force of nature! The soaring winds establish a superb monumental synergy with the luxurious string section! The ending a la Disney evokes a cinematic climax, Hunchback of Notre Dame style.
I continue to find Raynald Grenier THE absolute best modern underground author of fascinating cinematic pieces as the pinacle of detail and imagination! Check out the album: “Symphony No. 1 in D minor”!
