1. Hey Yodawan, super nice to have the chance to chat with you. What first got you into music?
Right so when I was 12 my mate told me he was getting piano lessons. I got jealous and wanted to 1up him. I admit I got in for the wrong reasons but over time I developed an obsession for music!
2. Can you write what was your best performance in your career? How do you remember it?
As YodaWan I have not performed yet. Before the Alias it must have been back when I was studying jazz and I threw in a wild and wacky vocal scat solo on stage that was different to the usual. Mouthing trumpet sounds n all!
3. What memorable responses have you had to your work?
I think the most memorable responses were the ones where my peers (the few who know who I am) first heard the music and could not believe that I made it. It's safe to say I caught a few people off guard.
4. Do you think that technology is improving lives?
I think that most technology was built with the intention to improve lives... and for most it has. However I also believe that a lot of the original intention I mentioned has now stagnated and we are currently being steered towards consumerism rather than quality of life. Sad, I know.
5. Do you have a mentor or coach?
Other than my vocal coach I don't have a mentor. Though I sure do wish I had one because there is just so much to learn and figure out!
6. What are you doing to ensure you continue to grow and develop as an artist?
I study and practice intensely. Because I produce, write and even mix my work I have to make sure I'm on top of my game. That includes vocal training, writing, producing and studying the greats all the time. I think the best thing I'm doing is working with deadlines and giving it everything to get stuff done.
7. Where is the best place in the world you’ve ever been to?
Thailand. Hands down. Cheap, quality food, great people, awesome beaches.
8. Who would you most like to collaborate with?
I would most like to collaborate with Calvin Harris. Quite different from my own sound but that guy is the goat. I love everything that he does.
9. What’s your favorite 2010’s artist?
My favorite 2010's artist would have to be Bon Iver or Ben Howard. Those guys just kill it with everything that they do! Special mention goes to Kanye West for his groundbreaking albums.
10. Do You Agree with the Pigeon?
