1. Hey Tori Boltwood, super nice to have the chance to chat with you. What first got you into music?
My parents sent me and my twin brother to a Musical theater camp when we where close to 12-13 years old . I remember the moment I walked onto stage and started the whole process of learning music, dance , acting and just performing in general . I fell in love with how it felt to create. I fell in love with how performing on stage made me feel . Though I don’t truly think I grasped it entirely then I think that was what would spark the realization that singing was part of a wonderful world of art and performance an I wanted to be a part of that world with all my heart . Before then i don’t think I understood that being an artist/musician/performer/ creative could be a part of your identity. It was in many ways a life altering realization .
2. What’s your favorite 80’s album?
Funny enough I don’t think I have a favorite album but I do have a few song I think are epic
Jessies Girl - Rick Springfield
Pour some sugar on me - Def Leppard
Eye of the tiger - By survivor
Old time rock and roll - Bob Seger / the silver bullet band
Also just for fun the entire soundtrack/album for Footloose is quite a fun listen .
3. What are you most proud of?
Something I am proud of is the time and mental reflection I invested to come to term with the concept of originality.
In my opinion You can’t really plan being original or unique . Its just something you must give yourself permission to be . We already have all the materials we need to be unique since We are all born as originals .
we just have to choose to not allow the pressures of society to bury it.
Every day I wake up an strive to love and accept myself .
By trying my best every day to take care of my mental ,emotional , spiritual and physical health I feel I have built a foundation that just frees myself to be the unique person I was born as .
This act of care and respect allows my music to refelct who I am and in turn be “unique” .
This investment in myself it took to get to this realization as a artist is something I take pride in.
