1. Hey The Loud Bangs, super nice to have the chance to chat with you! What first got you into music?
For Alice, our singer, it was the music of the 1990s – all of it – since that was played a lot around her house when she was a baby. For Daisy, it was seeing bands live in LA on the Sunset Strip. For Hannah, it was the Talking Heads movie “Stop Making Sense.” And for Marcus it was high school marching band!
2. What’s your favorite 60’s album?
Hmmm. Let’s take a vote…
The winner is “The 12-Year Old Genius” by Stevie Wonder.
3. What’s your fav food?
Pasta – though we’re so poor, we might get sick of it eventually.
4. When did you fall in love with rock music?
2006-2008. When we were just old enough to realize it existed and it was amazing. Saved our lives in small and big ways.
5. What’s your favorite 80’s artist?
Well, lately we would say this Australian band called The Church, because our producer Darren Callahan turned us on to their first six records and now we’re all addicted! But if you had asked us a year ago, it would probably have been Bauhaus or My Bloody Valentine or Cocteau Twins or Kate Bush.
6. Do you sing in the shower? What songs?
Sorry, not really. We do sing in the car, though… does that count? Mostly to Paramore, The 1975, or The Primitives – those are all very singable.
7. What was your favorite subject in school?
English for Daisy. Geometry for Alice. Theatre for Hannah. Lunch for Marcus.
8. What are you focusing on right now?
Working on a new record, hopefully to be out before year’s end. We just mixed a song today called “Prescription Headphones” we’re really excited about, so… there’s hope it won’t suck completely!
9. What’s the biggest accomplishment you have made with your carreer to this point?
This interview is a milestone! No one’s ever cared enough to ask us silly questions. Well, not in print anyway. Only when we’re drunk.
10. Do You Agree with the Pigeon?
Only about that goddamn bus. Sorry, we’re kidding. You have excellent taste in all things, Pigeon! Keep being the coolest kid in class.
The Pigeon added the new single to his Weekly Gems playlist on Spotify.
