ARTIST INTERVIEW: TAMMY MARIAH

Interview

1. Hey Tammy, super nice to have the chance to chat with you again! First and foremost, what got you into music?

I have always been in music really since birth, but professionally was the people around me supporting me to do what I really wanted to do. So, I started writing down and recording everything that I thought of no matter if it was a word or a whole song. now here I am today with a book full of songs I can’t wait to share with everyone. I appreciate them every day for the opportunities they have enabled me to take because they believe, and I can’t wait to continue

2. Can you describe a real-life situation that inspired you?

All of my songs are inspired by real-life situations for instance ‘Go away’ Was about ex friends who turned on me and started harassing me online in everyway they could and I said go away. And ‘Can’t take it back’ was when someone that did me so wrong tried to come back into my life when I was finally happy and in a better place, but it’s too late.

3. What is the first thing you think of when you wake up?

When I wake up, I think of a lot of different things but the main one is probably ‘I need water’. I am a huge water drinker and I know that I will be thirsty in the morning. It’s also a really great way to wake you up. So, every night I take a flask with ice cold water (this is a must!) up with me and put it on my bed side table ready for the morning. Do this for a week two flasks of water a day and see the difference in yourself.

4. What do you dislike about the art world?

I think the paper work side of it isn’t ideal but its needed and its totally worth doing if it means I can do what I love which is writing songs that I hope people love as much as I do

5. What are you focusing on right now?

The release of my next single ‘No escaping Karma ‘coming out in October and I am super excited!

6. Do you like “All Star” from Smash Mouth?

So, the first time I heard this song was in Shrek and I was singing it for weeks after, I occasionally sing it randomly as I do a lot of songs if someone says ‘somebody’ comes from being a musical theater student I guess it’s not my favorite song but I do like it and find it catchy

7. Are you usually listening to any 2023 record?

8. Do you listen to podcasts?

I actually don’t but I came across one called ‘Saving Grace’ on YouTube and I really enjoyed the episode so might give it a whirl.

9. What’s your favorite sport?

Dance is my favorite sport, many don’t know that it’s actually considered one at all which is surprising as it’s definitely a great physical activity especially if you don’t want to realize you’re doing it ha-ha, but Badminton is a close second it brings out my competitive side.

10. Do you agree with the Pigeon?

I admire that pigeons in England live on the edge and they aren’t scared of anything and are happy to stop traffic.
