Review
The psychedelic guitars and synthesizers take me off instantly into space on a rocket together with the band members. Later, the sultry vocals transport me to the world of dreams and the soft female vocals embrace me like a sheet taking me to the edge of time. Later, I start to pay more attention to the animated music video where astronauts pick up guitars, fall into a black hole and float through space to a star teeming with alien life. The security and astronomical chemistry with which these astronauts play is absolutely fascinating! It's not easy for an underground band to excel in the fields of shoegaze and dream pop, as they will always be compared to legendary bands, in this specific case I would say Slowdive, but Swiims have unique dreams to discover on their own. A small step for Swiims is a big step for the revival of shoegaze and its washed out guitars. Last but not least, I want to point out that I love the details where blue spirits come out of the guitars, as this perfectly captures the indie energy of Swiims.
