Review
"Spitting Image" immediately enchants me with textured and detailed guitar chords that travel through an ever-expanding universe. The production on this bittersweet single is really incredible! It all sounds so crisp, but there's a haunting atmosphere deep down that reminds me of the darker side of James Mercer / The Shins with their constantly cryptic and poetic lyrics - "white noise and the static of defeat". I also love the euphoria of these guitars, which display an extremely memorable virtuosity and reinforce that Silver Shores definitely has a way with words. Halfway through the track, an absolutely spectacular synergy is established between the noisy strings and the explosive drums, which complement each other perfectly in this pure indie rock.
