Review
Damsel" begins with delicate chords that create a natural atmosphere. Even more natural is the performance of Quiana Major whose lover is waiting for her to come home. Shimmering piano refinements are more than welcome in this single, which is more like a painting intended to be a hymn to femininity. In this single Quiana Major reminisces about her childhood, when she was abandoned to become a housewife. "Damnsel" is inspired by groups with legendary hypnotic dreamy sounds in a very subtle way such as The Cure or Cranberries, these being hidden under soulful melodies, which are closer to jazz with earworms enchanting the ears that aim to enhance pure musical talent, the end being complemented by organic percussion and handclaps.
