In "Alive" the omsnicient Proklaim once again wins us over with thought-provoking one-liners like "everybody is worthy of the crown" or "treat it like an album, not another mixtape" (there are good mixtapes and live performances out there, but I agree with this sentiment that the studio album is the highest version of recorded music).
On the other hand, "Alive" is a left turn in this poet's catalog, as this relaxing single draws inspiration from Afrobeat and dancehall, with the melodies having much more experimental and organic roots than is usual in the hip-hop game. Proklaim's technique on the microphone is as perfect as ever, as he soars through the verses of this colorful and refreshing track that makes you feel alive while on vacation in a paradise!
