"Internet Friends" presents itself with a triumphant melody but you don't think it's cool. This banger with killer flows alerts us to the anxiety and mental health sabotage created by the toxic social networks we're all part of. The production makes a rather risky decision by using catchy, melodic whistles to simulate the dopamine spike we get when we get a new notification. Mungmung's video couldn't be more dystopian as it portrays this artist undergoing edgy transformative processes. "I'm not cool, because I got no friends at the internet" and other verses that have the audacity to reveal the dangers of the internet are a clever social critique that at the end of the video suggests we spend more time offline.
The Pigeon added the new single to his Weekly Gems playlist on Spotify. You can check out the released music below. If you like what you hear, make sure to follow along so you can stay on top of future releases!
