Interview with K - Syran
1. Cru cru, what first got you into music?
My dad, he was and is my biggest inspiration! Sitting by the piano while he played and sing is some of my best childhood memories. I adore my pappa, he plays every instrument there is from banjo to drums etc.
Coming home from work he would kiss us all and swirl my mum around then run straight to the piano.
He would wake us up at the weekends playing the accordion.
He is a wonderful, wonderful man!
2. What or who is your inspiration to create music?
My dad and Switzerland. Living there got me into different groups, jazz, hard rock, rock, opera, pop, dance. Music brought me back to the U.K. though so U.K. is also a huge inspiration!
3. How do you feel the internet has impacted the music business?
Completely changed it! Loved how Bob Sinclar did a sketch about it, driving a newly bought porch in the old times and now after a million streams buying a scooter….
4. Will you tell us something embarassing about you?
I’m an extrovert so I don’t really get embarrassed, used to make a fool of myself.
5. How is your perfect day?
A kiss from my hubby and a cup of coffee. Making breakfast to my kids. Walking my three dogs with my best friend . Writing some lyrics and ideas.
A girls lunch. Recording some ideas in my studio. Cooking dinner with my man. Sitting all six of us discussing our days. Go for a evening stroll along the lake and then curl into my hubby’s arms and fall asleep.
6. What memorable responses have you had to your work so far?
That they couldn’t stop thinking about it. That they have danced and sung my song the whole night. My son in a nightclub in London suddenly heard my song being played by the DJ and he screamed “That’s my MUM!”
7. Do you see yourself as a music nerd?
I’m into so many things so would probably see myself as an artist nerd.
8. What album do you replay the most?
Coldplay, love their song A Sky Full Of Stars
9. What's your favorite movie?
I’m of course very proud of my own produced movie ELLIDA where I play the lead, based upon Henrik Ibsen’s play, The Lady From The Sea. It’s out on Amazon Prime in the U.K. & USA
10. Do you agree with the Pigeon?
Of course both StoneBridge and I agree.
Interview with StoneBridge
1. Cru cru, what first got you into music?
I was impressed with rock bands in my early years and felt playing guitar was the coolest thing ever so started like that. Years later my sister had a graduation party and needed a DJ so my dad suggested I would be that guy, which lead to hooking up with other DJs and we started a remix company called SweMix and built a studio. Remixes for local labels started to come in and we decided to start a label that got interest from UK labels, who offered remix work - one of them Robin S - Show Me Love and the rest is history.
2. What or who is your inspiration to create music?
In the early days it was disco, Michael Jackson and current cool US stuff. Now it's more of an experiment creating a track and I am a song man so I collaborate with singers writing the topline and the produce the song.
3. How do you feel the internet has impacted the music business?
Everything is more instant. Not only do you need a good track that stands out, you need a good looking artwork and visuals to stand out.
4. Will you tell us something embarassing about you?
Hmmm I strive for perfection :-)
5. How is your perfect day?
Wake up after good sleep, handle emails and socials, work on interestlng project. Have a nice lunch, work a few more hours to have a relaxing evening with family.
6. What memorable responses have you had to your work so far?
I once produced an artist signed to Michael Jackson's label MJJ and someone told me Michael liked the work - that felt insanely good.
7. Do you see yourself as a music nerd?
Being a full time music man it sort of helps so yes.
8. What album do you replay the most?
Interestlng question actually and now we touch on that internet change in music. I mainly listen to playlists now and it depends on mood.
9. What's your favorite movie?
2001 and Godfather were favourites in my early days
