ARTIST INTERVIEW: DROSZ

Interview

Cru cru Drosz, what first got you into music?

Hey guys whats going on! what got me into music was being involved with the youth choir around the age of 9. I loved being around other kids and we all just signing, very fun times.

What would you do if you had a time machine?

If I had a time machine, I would go see some of the great musical artists perform live. Like a Marvin Gaye or The King of Pop Michael Jackson. I would love to catch them performing live. It's cool to see videos of them on youtube but it would be different live.

What's your favorite record from Daft Punk?

I got put on late to Daft Punk, but my cousin RIC808 played a lot of tracks for me and I started to like how they put trakcs together. One More Time and Get Lucky are definitely my favorite songs tracks.

Can you name 3 all time classics to dance to?

Imma take it back but Night Fever by the Bee Gees is one.

Michael Jackson Don't Stop Till You Get Enough and maybe Sister Sledge He's the Greates Dancer. Well, to me, those would be top 3, it could honestly go either way. There were a lot of classic dance hits from back in the day, gotta pay homage.

5. Can you give us your top 3 electronic records of all time?

My top 3 records of all time! Oh man, there are soo many that I love. I'll try to give my 3 lol. I would say Martin Garrix Animal, that was a dope track, loved the energy from that one, always had me hyped. My next track would be Krewella Live For The Night and Clarity By Zedd.

6. Are you a fan of working out?

I work out but I'm not crazy with it. Me personally, I stay fit by just being active in sports. I help coach my sons soccer team and I play basketball so that keeps me where I want to be fitness wise. I am a fan of working out, I think being fit and in shape is very important for your health.

Would you rather stop making music or stop listening to music?

Ugh, these questions got me thinking over hear lol. I wouldn't want either to be the case but if I had to choose it would be to stop making music. Listening to music has gotten me through a lot of personal experiences, good and bad. Music has played a huge role in my life so for me to put the mic down and just enjoy listening to music, I could live with that.

8. How do you feel the Internet has impacted the music business?

The internet has made a huge impact in music business and the indusrty in whole. With what's going on now, like one of the dopest podcasters that I watch and listen to Curtiss King stated, we are in the DIY era and this is the best time as an independent artist to be able to put music out, be heard and build your own brand and business. Now when it comes to the money with streaming and artists getting paid and how the funds should be distributed, that's a different conversation for a different time but the way the internet has transformed the landscape to where people can drop music as much as they want, promote themselves as much as they want is huge.

9. What are you doing to ensure you continue to grow and develop as an artist?

For me, I have to stay grounded and try my best to stay consistent with all that I do as best as I can. Even with life throwing crazy things at me, I have to always remind myself to stay mindful of what the goal is, and that's to be consistent and work because that will lead to other opportunities along the way.

10. Do you agree with the Pigeon?

Of course I agree with the Pigeon man! you can't go wrong!

Review

"Feel This Way" enchants with a nocturnal production, followed by a pattern of drums and disorienting refinements that turn the atmosphere surrounding the track into something suitably psychedelic. The psychedelic beats even evolve into a melodic dance track that uses tricks similar to Daft Punk's iconic "Discovery", and you can easily imagine a whole palette of colors that transmits euphoria! It is really crazy that I feel like I'm in space traveling through galaxies while my face is half waiting on the other side of the solar system!

The Pigeon added the new single to his Alternative Gems playlist on Spotify.
