ARTIST INTERVIEW: BATTERY OPERATED ORCHESTRA

1. Cru cru, what first got you into music?

I'm lucky that music has always been a part of my life. My parents had awesome taste in music and I had a habit of making mixtapes, singing and playing keyboards.

2. What would you do if you had a time machine?

On the selfish side I'd get myself piano lessons and a piano when I was a kid! I've only just started learning to play properly and it's an endless joy. More magnanimously I'd use it to somehow make society more equitable for all.

3. What’s your favorite album of all time? Agh. Just one? I can't! Abbey Road was my first CD and it's still a standout so I'll go with that today, but it changes depending on what I'm feeling.

4. Will you tell us something embarassing about you?

I know the whole rap to the Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

5. What are you doing to ensure you continue to grow and develop as an artist?

Currently learning to play piano, in general exposing myself to lots of great music and interesting ideas.

6. Are you a music fan?

I don't think you can make music and not be a music fan, so yes.

7. Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of music?

Everything! Life is rich! I have a day job as an animator so visual arts and animation are big for me.

8. What’s movie do you love the most?

Like the album question this is a toughie, there are many favourites. However I can always watch Singin' in the Rain or Some Like it Hot, no matter how recently I've watched them.

9. Who came first? The Pigeon or the egg?

The egg is kind of like a star so cosmically I feel it's the egg.

10. Do you agree with the Pigeon?

I'd need to see the pigeon's manifesto to answer this.

The Pigeon added the new single to his Weekly Gems playlist on Spotify. You can check out the released music below. If you like what you hear, make sure to follow along so you can stay on top of future releases!
