ARTIST INTERVIEW: ASTRALIX

Interview

1. Cru cru Astralix, super nice to have the chance to chat with you. First and foremost what got you into music?

I appreciate the warm welcome, and I'm delighted to share my musical journey with you. My introduction to music stemmed from a combination of personal curiosity and exposure to various

musical genres during my formative years. Growing up, I found myself drawn to the power of melody and rhythm, which ignited a genuine passion for exploring the vast world of music. Additionally, witnessing the profound impact that music had on emotions and societal movements further fueled my desire to contribute to this expressive art form. Ultimately, these early experiences laid the foundation for my enduring commitment to and love for music.

2. What is "Still Raining" and why makes me dance so much when I'm listening to it?

"Still Raining" is an EDM track characterised by its rhythmic beats, synthesiser-driven melodies, and electronic elements. The song's composition, with its carefully crafted tempo and dynamic variations, tends to induce a positive and energetic response in listeners. The combination of pulsating beats and uplifting melodies is designed to create a lively atmosphere prompting individuals to engage in spontaneous movements such as dancing. This effect is a result of the music's ability to synchronise with the body's natural inclination to respond to rhythmic stimuli, creating a sense of enjoyment and movement. The song's EDM genre, known for its emphasis

on rhythm and danceability, further enhances its impact on listeners, fostering a connection

between the music and the physical response it elicits.

2.5 Should we work out while listening to it or should we listen to it in our headphones focused on our bedroom? Or both?

Yes, it is advisable to incorporate both approaches. Working out while listening to the content through speakers can provide a dynamic and immersive experience, enhancing motivation and energy during exercise. Additionally, dedicating focused listening time with headphones in a quiet bedroom allows for concentrated understanding and absorption of the material, promoting a more detailed and thoughtful engagement. Combining these two methods can cater to different preferences and optimize the overall learning and workout experience.

3. What's your top 3 albums to dance to?

My top three albums to dance to are "Thriller" by Michael Jackson, "1989" by Taylor Swift, and "Random Access Memories" by Daft Punk. They always get me moving!

4. What’s your favorite project from the electric pop scene?

My favorite project from the electric pop scene would be difficult to pinpoint, as there have been numerous influential works. However, one that stands out is Daft Punk's "Discovery" album. The fusion of electronic and pop elements, coupled with innovative production techniques, creates a

timeless and impactful listening experience.

6. Who was playing on your headphones when you were growing up?

During my upbringing, I often listened to Jimi Hendrix on my headphones.

7. Who's your favorite EDM artist?

I really enjoy a lot of EDM artists, so it's tough to pick just one favorite! There are so many talented musicians in the electronic music scene, and each has their own unique style that I appreciate.

8. Do you consider yourself a music - nerd?

Yeah, I totally consider myself a music nerd! I just love everything about music – the different genres, artists, and how it can make you feel. It's like my passion, you know? I find joy in exploring diverse genres, understanding musical theory, and appreciating the historical context of different musical movements. My enthusiasm goes beyond mere enjoyment; it involves a deep curiosity and dedication to continuously expanding my understanding of the intricate world of music. In essence, my self-identification as a music "nerd" reflects my passion for and commitment to the art and science of music.

10. Do you agree with the Pigeon?

I appreciate the question, and while I respect the subjective nature of musical preferences, it's essential to clarify what specific aspect of the pigeon's opinion on music is being referred to. Music is a diverse and multifaceted art form, encompassing various genres, styles, and individual

tastes. Without specific details regarding the pigeon's perspective or criteria for evaluation, it

becomes challenging to provide a definitive agreement or disagreement.

Review

"Still Raining" begins in space with a shower of stars of all colors and shapes that shine in the galaxies where chaos originated. There's no order without chaos or chaos without order, but it's still raining in this distant galaxy where the synthesizers take on a life of their own and organize themselves as one, while the thumping bass is brought to life, constantly oscillating up and down. In "Still Raining" the keys and desperate lyrics reveal the sadness and existential crisis hidden in so much artificial euphoria - "it's dark and cold and i need you tonight" - The stars of "Still Raining" are extremely colorful, but desperately need human warmth and physical contact, something impossible to find in this icy space environment which is the ideal atmosphere for this fascinatingly mesmerizing electronic banger that works brilliantly by contrasts!!!
