cru cru Andrew Flynn, super nice to have the chance to chat with you. First and foremost what got you into music?
As a kid I was really into musical theatre, it was my creative escape and I was pretty good too. The ability to feel emotions through music is just so powerful to me. I always wanted to sing its the first thing I ever wanted. In my teens I had a few close breaks but they never came off, and I lost my faith and fell out of the whole singing thing. Around 6 months ago I started writing lyrics and creting melodies and here we are today with me releasing music its amazing but I am learning as I go.
What’s the best decade for pop music?
This is a very hard question to answer and I just can't, as every decade has something unique and special to draw from, thats the wonder of it all.
What's your favorite album from the indietronica scene?
you know the album that jumps out at me is the music from the movie Drive, that is epic.
What’s the best advice you ever gave to another underground artist?
Do you, strive for good enough, not perfection. Don't compare your work to anyone else
What is "Narcissist" and why does it feel like the 80s?
well I love the energy of 80's music, the beats and synth can make a song sound alive, so like me who writes dark and moody lyrics they just pair well. Narcissist is a tale of loving someone is in not capable of loving you back, how that can destroy your self esteem but how much self growth there is coming out the other side, its hopeful really.
How is your experience as an indie artist going?
I am super new so right now trying to navigate promotion is a learning curve, funding the work is also challenging as its all out of my own pocket but it is so fullfilling.
What songs and albums are still inspiring you even to this day?
Erasure still feeds my soul the epic sounds, and the energy in the tracks is just amazing, that is the kind of music I want to make (with my own style of course)
What's so special about new wave?
You can express emotion and actually sing to new wave, there are alot of similar sounding artists right now so I think it allows me to express my own vocal style while bringing energy too.
Are you a fan of movies?
yes I love movies, always scary ones and scifi love the escapism.
Do you agree with the Pigeoon?

Andrew Flynn's "Narcissist" is born through some truly eccentric synthetic components that propel this banger forward along with extremely dynamic beats that support the spell evoked by Flynn's voice. The synthesizers quickly spiral out of control, as does Andrew's performance, which allows this electronic single to acquire extremely human properties that burn in the form of genuine emotions in this inspiring alternative track.
