Artist REVIEW: MONKEYRAT

"Isolation" begins with an intro consisting of drones that create a very dystopian solitary aquatic atmosphere, especially when combined with a detail that reminds us of the sound lifts make when they reach the chosen level - without a doubt this detail adds a lot of personality and contributes to the unsettling mood proposed here!

Later on, it is added guitar work full of atonal sounds that sustains sinister female vocals ("How can you love someone you don't even know? So close and yet so far") that cause chills on the spine as it reminds us of Kim Gordon's ominous tracks in Sonic Youth's albums such as Evol and Bad Moon Rising. Besides that, I also want to praise really solid drums, virtuous solos and certain noisy instants and occasional cathartic explosions!

The Pigeon added the new single to his Weekly Gems playlist on Spotify. You can check out the released music below. If you like what you hear, make sure to follow along so you can stay on top of future releases.
