Like any excellent alternative rock song, "A Mind Of Your Own" grabs me hard through instantly memorable riffs and explosive percussion! Initially Garland Kelley's voice vaguely reminds me of Green Day's iconic lead on the band's softer songs. But it gains a personality and a creative identity all its own in this chorus that asks us to have original convictions and principles. Wow! A huge highlight is the bridge in the last third involving a smooth jazz transition and a guitar solo so stunning it makes me dizzy.
